Your favourite 10p mixture sweets?
|
Massive fan of those fizzy sour cherries you get in Haribo tangfastics.
Also, harder to come by, but the fizzy pink cola bottles.

10p mixture? What kind of crazy decimalisation is that.
Real kids bought their sweets in quarters.
Cola cubes
Mint imperials
Lemon sherbets
Rhubarb and custards

Candy necklaces, bought by the half dozen from the happy shopper opposite school.
Each polo shaped sweet bitten in half then strung its convex crescent between the teeth and pinged like missiles off the elastic string, at the backs of hoods and earholes or padded duffel coats.
Endless hours of fun back then when each day seemed to run and run.
Gobstoppers we boshed in our little mooeys, rubble gum we chewed and blew bubbles through.
Plastic cups of cheap shit coke and orange Cones of jubblies sweating our pockets.
